Treat the earth well. It was not given to you by your parents, it was loaned to you by your children. We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children.

I think that this quote means that treat the earth well, because it is meant for you and me and we need to take care of it. I totaly agree that we should take the earth as a present and take care of it as well as we can. my example would be if you get and $1,000.00 bike should you take care of it so it lasts? I think that you should just like you have to eat each day to keep healthy. This person has a big point how it was a present from our children and it was only loaned not given so it is a temporally thing to have until you die. I think that this quote is the best one on the blog so far.

I think this quote means that the earth was not given to you by your parents because you will not live forever. However, your children are the ones who will most likely live on the earth much longer than you and if you do not treat the earth well, it will effect how your children or your grandchildren will see the earth when they grow up. I do agree with this quote because, like I said, if you don't treat the earth well it will effect the future and the earth might not be as great as it was to you for your great great grandchildren. Some of the times that this happens in real life is when people litter or throw things on the ground in a beutiful place. If someone starts doing that a whole bunch of people think it is okay and they start to do it too. Twenty years later it might not look as beautiful as it was before. I think that we should treat the earth well so this does not happen.

I think this means that your parents did not give you the earth but the earth gave you itself. I agree with this quote. For example, when the quote says "We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children," it means that your children will live on he same earth that you lived on. This means that if you don't take care of the earth your children, grandchildren, and so on would not live in the same healthy atmosphere(environment)that we lived in. If you litter other people will use you as an exuse to litter themselves. We should help the earth by doing as many things that help the environment

I think the quote means treat the earth with care because we are taking care of it from are children to come, and if we destroy the earth then the children will not live in a safe environment. I do agree with the quote because it is saying you have to take care of this earth or else it will be no good for the future. I have seen it in real life before because we recycle and we carefully cut down trees so that they have enough to build houses. All of the good stuff we do know will effect the future for our children.

I think this means we need to take care of the world so it will be a good place for people in the future. I agree with this because if we polute the rivers there will be no fish for our kids. If we chop down all the trees and do not plant new ones there will be no wood for them to build houses. In Cub Scouts I follow the Leave No Trace rules to protect the environment. When I am in nature I leave things how I found it and leave nothing like trash behind. Bobby
ReplyDeleteI think that the quote means that if we don’t respect the earth we may not have it forever. To me this quote means that you should treat the world like it treats you. For example, the world provides you with food, fresh water, and wood to build your houses. In return for all the things that you need to live, you should ride your bike to school once a week so that the gases that cars give off does not affect the earth. I agree that everyone should treat the earth like it treats you. To me everything is so real right now. We are not treating the world like it treats use. The ice at the North Pole is melting causing all the polar bears to swim more than they normally do. Polar bears can swim 40 miles straight but most polar bears that die because of global warming might swim more than 40 mile and still not find an ice burg to rest on or a seal to eat, to get their energy back. This quote is explaining what is happening around us each day. Even though the earth might notice that it is getting to hot and the polar bears are dyeing we might not.

I think the quote means that if we don't care for the earth now, it won't be the same for our children later on. I agree with the quote because if you don't treat the earth well now, it won't get better in the future. It's like if you have no road, a car can't be as useful as a car with good roads. If a child is living in an extremely poluted world, they can't have the same life as living on the earth now. Rachel
ReplyDeleteI think the quote means that we need to take care of the earth. So that the kids can play in the future. We can’t cut too many trees without planting new ones so the kids can play on the rivers and forests and so can their kids. taking care of the earth can save our oxygen. Peter
ReplyDeleteI think they were trying to say that kids love to play in the woods and every where so we can't cut all the trees down and dam all of the lakes. Dana
ReplyDeleteI think the quote means that you should take care of the earth, because there is only one earth. If we do not take care of it, the earth will be very dirty and will decrease the life span of people, animals, and all living things. I agree with the quote because if people take care of the earth, they will have the opportunity to live longer.
ReplyDeleteA connection I can make is I never do car washes to raise money, because if I do a car wash, then all the soap will go down the drain and into a lake then into Puget Sound. That will affect the fish living there in a bad way, and I never litter.
Everyone should help make the earth cleaner so the next generation will have a better place to live.
Michelle
I think that the quote means that you should take care of it because it is not ours. for example if you never flush the toilet for a while it will stink for a long time it will stay and pollute the environment. I once accidently dropped a pen in a river and I was looking for it and I found it a year after.

I think the quote means we have to take care of the earth. I agree with the quote because if we don't treat the earth like it treats us it will never be the same for are children. The earth provides us everything we need to survive with and in return you have to treat it like it treats you. For example we shouldn't pollute and we should start recycling more because the pollution could effect our childrens lives. Andy
ReplyDeleteI thik it means that you should not litter or harm the earth in any way because we only have one earth and we can not replace it. Well, I don't really get the verse that much but I don't agree with it because the earth did get passed down by our ancestors millions and millions of years ago. I read the bible and god said that he created the earth and I believe him 100% and god is not my child and I didn't borrow it from him he gave it to me and to everyone as a gift so we should take care of our gift with respect.

I think that the quote is correct and I agree with it because it is in peoples life in the future people will live differently the earth will be different and it also I want to protect the earth. The quote to me sounds like the world was our and soon it will be our children’s world. The quote will connect because people right now are trying to save the world and like the quote said treat the world right.
ReplyDeleteRithvik
I think that the quote is correct and I agree with it because earth has to be clean in order for us to survive. I think everyone should go green to save the planet. The quote sounds like otherr people went to war to save our country. I can connect to the quote because other people are trying to save our country with their lives in stake for us to live our life.

Hey. I think the quote means that we are not the only people on this earth, and that we have to treat it well because it isn't ours: it's for us all to share. If I were to fill the atmosphere with carbon dioxide because I like carbon dioxide, It wouldn't be fair because the earth is not mine and some people dont like carbon d.
ReplyDeleteI definetly agree with this quote. If my family was watching TV and I wanted to change the channel, it wouldn't be fair because I'm not the only person there. If I was alone, I could've change the channel as much as I wanted. That's kind of how it works with the earth. We have to share the earth. We're borrowing it from the future. We have to take care of it for generations to come.
Bennett
P.s. I don't know why it says Elliott. my name is not Elliott.
ReplyDeleteI think the quote means that u aren't the only person in the world. And just because the earth can do nothing to stop u does not mean that u can leave litter on the ground and cut down trees just for fun. I do agree with the quote because I agree with what it is trying to say.
ReplyDeleteThe quote is trying to say that you should treat the earth well. A connection would be if i bought an outdoor swimming pool. You would want to make sure you cleaned the water and the bottom of the pool so that it doesn't get rusty and then u can't swim in it anymore. It's the same thing with the earth! you have to pick up litter and make sure we take good care of it so that we can keep the earth around for a couple hundred decades more.
